Practice Areas – Premarital Agreements
Do I Need a Prenuptial Agreement?
Prenuptial Agreements, also referred to as Premarital Agreements, can save you a lot of money down the road. Obviously no one wants to go into a marriage believing there is even a possibility that things won’t work out, but statistics and common sense tell us it is a possibility. We take out insurance to protect us against other possibilities we hope will never come to pass. A Premarital Agreement is like having an insurance policy that helps control the expense and make the outcome more predictable, so that you have less to lose in taking a chance on love. If you are engaged to be married and answer YES to any of the following, consult with a Cole Miller attorney about a Premarital Agreement:
  • I have children from a previous marriage
  • I have a much larger estate than my fiancé
  • I own a business
  • I co-own property or an investment with someone other than my fiancé
  • My fiancé and I are both older with our own property and assets
  • My adult children are concerned about my marriage
  • My parents are concerned about my marriage
A Premarital Agreement can put everyone’s mind at ease. If you have questions about whether a Premarital Agreement is right for you, call Cole Miller PLLC for a consultation.
