Practice Areas – Military Divorce
Military families receive special consideration at Cole Miller PLLC. Cole Miller PLLC not only recognizes the special commitment and value to the nation that the military services provide, but also recognizes the special circumstances for the military family as it relates to Virginia family law.

The Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act of 2003 often times plays a critical role in family law litigation. A key provision that is frequently used is the “stay” provision to stop legal proceedings when military obligations interfere with a servicemember’s ability to participate in the litigation.

Military retired pay is a valuable asset and source of income for military families. The Uniformed Services Former Spouses Protection Act plays a critical role in divorce cases with regard to equitable distribution of assets and determination of support.

Cole Miller PLLC has a substantial clientele that are presently deployed to various locations throughout the Middle East. We also serve military families located in Europe and Japan. Recognizing that time zones and access to email and telephones presents unique obstacles to communication, our office policy gives priority to your telephone calls. We have the ability to scan and email all documents for your case to keep you timely informed.
